Baby & Me FAQs: A Family-Friendly Drama Time for Babies

What is Baby & Me? 

Baby & Me is a dramatic playtime for babies and their parents or caregivers. Gather together in a shared space for music, movement, storytelling, and sensory play that fosters early developmental milestones. Each class has a unique theme that stimulates imagination and social skills!

That sounds fun! What types of activities are included in the class? 

Every class is different, but activities from recent classes include peek-a-boo scarves, interactive storytelling, a sea creature movement parade, sock puppets, and of course bubbles – everyone’s favorite! Activities may require sitting on the ground, and/or lifting your baby. 

What kinds of themes will we explore?

Some of our themes explore broad ideas for babies like colors or seasons. Other topics are more specific like fairytales, the beach, or flying objects like airplanes or balloons! 

How long is Baby & Me? 

Each class lasts approximately 30-40 minutes. We start with lively introductions and a creative warm-up, then jump into music, movement, and sensory play!

Can I bring my stroller? 

Absolutely! Both our Main Lobby and the Baby & Me class space are stroller accessible. Men’s and Women’s rooms are equipped with a baby changing station and there is a water bottle filling station in the classroom. 

What else should I bring? 

Bring a small blanket for baby to lay/sit on during floor activities. Sometimes, a specialty-themed class encourages dress up, or to bring a special item, like a stuffed animal. Any special notes are included on the website at registration.

How many members of my family can join?

Each ticket is good for one baby (ages 0-24 months) and up to two adults (parent, grandparent, caregiver, etc.).

Can I schedule in advance? 

Yes! And we encourage you to register in advance as we cannot always guarantee a spot in the class for walk-ins. Visit the Orlando Family Stage website “Shows and Events” page to reserve your spot!

I have a new or growing 2-year-old. Is this class right for me?

2-year-olds sit right on the cusp of our Baby & Me and Story Stroll experiences. If your child is eager to move and explore, Story Stroll may be a great fit, while Baby & Me offers a more grounded experience for crawlers and new walkers.

Is there anything else I could do in Loch Haven Park after Baby & Me?

Absolutely!

• Bring a snack and have a picnic in the park! There are paths to walk around Loch Haven park and even across the street at the Mannello Museum of American Art outdoor sculpture garden. Use your blanket and play under the beautiful 200 year old Live Oak named “The Mayor”
• Head across the park to the Orlando Science Center for some learning and fun!
• Want to explore outside of the park? Take a short walk to the AdventHealth Sunrail Station and enjoy a ride to the downtown branch of the Orlando Public Library or Lake Eola.
