One Costume, Many Characters

Practice making character choices by using one simple costume prop for this activity (ex. scarf, cape, broom, wig, leg warmers, etc.). Each time someone has the prop, they must use it to turn into a character and let the others guess who or what they are (ex. A cape can turn someone into a superhero, a vampire, or a nervous magician). Keep going around the circle taking turns and seeing how many characters you can create with just one simple costume prop!

Halloween Voice Lab

Have fun exploring how voices affect character choices by selecting a phrase that can be used throughout the activity (ex. “trick-or-treat” or “happy halloween”). Next, take several small pieces of paper and on each write a different emotion (ex. depressed, excited, anxious, surprised, disgust, etc.) Place all the small pieces of paper in a bowl and pass it around so each participant pulls out a paper and says the phrase in the phrase they got. The other group members must guess what their emotion is! Think of other variations to add complexity to this game, by adding a character or setting to the paper!
