Orlando Family Stage’s Young Artist in the Spotlight is a program that features work generated by visual art classes in schools and organizations within Central Florida that tie to the theme of the current production. Young people are encouraged to connect with our shows and stories by creating unique visual art pieces that are put on display for all patrons to enjoy!
This year Orlando Family Stage partnered with ArtReach Orlando, a visual arts nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring the link between art, social justice, and the healing process. Projects are designed to provide youth with self-expression and the ability to explore issues, while also creating personal solutions that develop their sense of self-worth and emotional resilience. In preparation to see the show Allie Kazan and the Magic Mansion, ArtReach Orlando worked alongside 4th-6th grade students from Mrs. Osborn’s class at the Orange County Academy in Bithlo. Students used watercolor and printmaking techniques, students designed and illustrated their own “magic mansions”.
Please enjoy this artwork created by these students!
