Wonderfully Wicked: Musical Theatre and Makeup ♫

Board the train to the Emerald City each week in this theatrical celebration of Wicked! Students of Dear Old Shiz explore the music and magic of the story, learning to make their character as popular as possible. Singing, dancing, acting, and technical skills including character makeup make this the most swankified class ever. “Until you try, you’ll never know!”

This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!

What You Will Learn

• Learn and perform a variety of musical pieces, staged scenes, and choreographed numbers 
• Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’ of the body, voice, imagination, and concentration
• The ability to use musicianship as a tool creating characters and telling stories through dance and vocal music
• Universal stage makeup contouring skills as well as specific character looks from the world of Wicked

What to Expect 

• Most of the week consists of music, acting, dance/movement, and theatre games with a few workshops related to stage makeup included
• Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
• A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
• Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback

What to Bring

• Students should bring a water bottle and a non-perishable lunch each day. Please ensure all items are nut-free.
• Hypo-allergenic wipes are provided for makeup removal, but you are welcome to bring personal wipes or facial soap if preferred

Extended Care

• Extended Care is available Monday-Friday, 7:30am-9am and 2pm-5:30pm for $50 per week

Presentation Day

• A culminating final presentation for friends and family on the last day of class
