Homeschool: Secrets from the Ministry of Magic

Step through the floo network and into the most powerful groups of magic users in the world! There are stories to be told behind every door and inside every howler. Uncover the secrets they do not want you to know by performing scenes and monologues from inside the Ministry! Family and friends are invited to a final presentation on the last day of class where everything is revealed…

This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!

What You Will Learn

• How to create a character and perform with and in front of others 
• Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’; body, voice, imagination, and concentration
• How to create a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end
• How to share opinions about a story with classmates

What to Expect 

• Themed acting exercises and improvisation games
• Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
• A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
• Creative play and theatre games that explore the world, characters, and details of the class theme
• Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback

What to Bring

• Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle

Presentation Day

• A culminating final presentation for friends and family on the last day of class, February 22, 10:30am at Orlando Family Stage.
