Learn the basics of hand-to-hand and swordplay stage combat! No experience is required to wield your foil and protect the royal family from all that threaten it. You are bound by duty to fight with bravery and honor!

This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!

What You Will Learn

  • Introductory level hand-to-hand combat and swordplay skills
  • How to use fight choreography to enhance the telling of a story
  • Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’; body, voice, imagination, and concentration
  • How to share feedback about a story with classmates

What to Expect 

  • Movement every day and practice of balance, strength, and precision 
  • Clear expectations for safety and care for classmates and swords
  • Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
  • A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
  • Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback

What to Bring

  • Students should bring a water bottle and a non-perishable lunch each day. Please ensure all items are nut-free.
  • All necessary class materials are provided

Extended Care

  • Extended Care is available Monday-Friday, 7:30am-9am and 2pm-5:30pm for $50 per week

Presentation Day

  • Final presentations are held on the last day of class, giving students the opportunity to showcase what they learned throughout the program. Family and friends are invited to attend. Presentation times are announced on Monday of your camp week.
