It offers a unique opportunity to enhance family connections through sharing emotions and engaging in discussions about the performance. DO MORE AT HOME

If You Were a Dog

If you could be any kind of dog, which would you be and why? What is your dog’s favorite dog treat or dog game to play? Give yourself a dog name and draw a picture of yourself as the dog. Learn a dog trick and perform it for your family.

A Dog Parade

Using household objects (ex. hats, scarves, paper plate ears, etc.), dress up as different types of dogs and create your own “Dog Parade”. Recreate some of your favorite moments from the play or incorporate music in a fun runway show! Incorporate various vocabulary words used in both English and Spanish from the show!

Spanish Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt

Learn and reinforce Spanish vocabulary at home by using simple index cards or post-its to label various objects or places in Spanish (ex. “mesa” (table), “cama” (bed), “espejo” (mirror)). Gather all family members in one central location of the home. Have one person say the word out loud in Spanish or give a “clue” and the rest of the participants must go and find the item. This idea can be altered in various ways depending on the comfort and reading level of participants.

Duo Lingo

Families can use Duo Lingo at home to explore language together in short, playful sessions that fit into daily routines. Just like the characters in the story learn and grow through connection and curiosity, Duo Lingo not only invites families to learn new languages but to try something new, make mistakes, and celebrate progress as a family. Parents can join their kids each day for a few minutes to practice Spanish vocabulary, try out phrases, and cheer each other on- turning language learning into a shared adventure that reflects the story’s themes of learning with love, support, and joy.
