Story Stroll FAQs:  A Family-Friendly Outdoor Drama Time

What is a Story Stroll?

Our Story Stroll is a delightful, imaginative journey designed just for toddlers (ages 2-3) and their parents or guardians. Set in Loch Haven Park, each stroll is uniquely themed and brought to life by our playful storytellers, making every experience a magical one!

That sounds fun! What if I think my 4 or 5 year old would enjoy this?

While Story Stroll is specifically designed for toddlers ages 2 to 3, both 4- and 5-year-olds, as well as younger children around 18 months, can still enjoy the activities.

In this program, children practice a variety of skills:

  • Fine Motor Skills: Engaging with crayons and manipulating small objects.
  • Gross Motor Skills: Activities may include running, jumping, and crawling.

Children should be able to understand and respond to simple questions, as well as identify familiar objects, people, and body parts. The program also encourages imaginative play, allowing kids to pretend that objects are something else and to imitate adults and peers in fun, creative ways!

What happens in a Story Stroll?

As we stroll through the park, little ones explore exciting themed stations where they can act out stories, play games, and engage in sensory activities. Every step sparks their imagination and curiosity, allowing them to discover the wonders of theatre in a most playful way!

How long is a Story Stroll?

The fun begins at 9 AM and lasts approximately 30-40 minutes. We start with lively introductions and a creative actor’s toolbox warm-up inside, then set off for the park! Families are welcome to arrive as early as 8:45 AM to join in on a pre-stroll activity in our vibrant (and air conditioned) Main Lobby that sets the stage for the adventure ahead.

What if it’s raining?

In the event of inclement weather, Orlando Family Stage will reach out with alternative arrangements.

Can I bring my stroller?

Absolutely! Both our Main Lobby and the park are stroller-friendly. Toddlers can stay cozy in their strollers during story stops or hop out when they are ready to join the fun! Some activities involve full-body movement, but we always have modifications available to ensure everyone can join in!

What kinds of themes will we explore?

Our themes cover topics that most toddlers already love to explore like dinosaurs, pirates, bugs,
