Volunteer Youth Academy Apprentices

Participating Student Apprentices can earn community service, Bright Futures, or Florida Seal of Fine Arts hours while learning more about theatre, leadership, and teaching.

CLASSROOM APPRENTICES serve as role models, guides, mentors, and teachers’ assistants for our week-long summer programs. As an important member of the classroom team, you will gain experience supporting high-quality theatrical programming while maintaining a positive and encouraging environment for students. Summer classes are structured around a unique theme and cover the following age ranges: 4-5 yo, 1-2 gr, 3-5 gr, 3-8 gr, 6-10 gr.

STAGE MANAGEMENT APPRENTICES serve as role models, guides, mentors, and teachers’ assistants for our week-long performance workshop programs. In addition to being an important member of the classroom team and supporting an environment that is positive and encouraging, you will also gain experience supporting the show by taking notes and fulfilling backstage roles as necessary. Summer performance workshops include rehearsal and performance of a full-length musical and cover the following age ranges: 3-5 gr and 3-8 gr.

BABY & ME APPRENTICES primarily serve as classroom assistants, setting up and maintaining the classroom space, distributing materials, and disinfecting materials between sessions as needed. Each Baby & Me class has a unique theme and includes music, expressive movement, and dramatic play to encourage meaningful interaction among grown-ups and babies ages 0-24 months.
