Story Drama: Pete’s Groovy Adventures

White shoes? Check. Shades? Double check. Sounds like an adventure with Pete the Cat is about to start. Whether he is surfing at the beach, jamming in a band, or reading with friends, Pete keeps things cool and creative. Join us for a week of storytelling, drama games, and laid-back fun. Because no matter what, “It’s all good!”

This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!

What You Will Learn

• How to create a character and play pretend with and in front of others
• Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’: body, voice, imagination, and concentration
• How to use dramatic play to tell the beginning, middle, and end of stories
• How to share opinions about a story with classmates

What to Expect 

• Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
• A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
• Creative play and theatre games that explore the world, characters, and details of the class theme
• Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback

What to Bring

• Students should bring a water bottle each day. 

Presentation Day

• Final presentations are held on the last day of class, giving students the opportunity to showcase what they learned throughout the program. Family and friends are invited to attend, Saturday, May 2, 10am.
