MAC Boys Entertainment’s Ruined

Ruined is Lynn Nottage’s first Pulitzer Prize-winning play (2009)! She won the prize again for Sweat in 2017! Other prize-winning plays and musicals by Lynn Nottage include MJ The Musical, Clyde’s, Intimate Apparel, and so many more. Ruined is a haunting, probing work about the resilience of the human spirit during times of war. Set in a small mining town in Democratic Republic of Congo, this powerful play follows Mama Nadi, a shrewd businesswoman in a land torn apart by civil war. But, is she protecting or profiting by the woman she shelters? How far will she go to survive? Can a price be placed on a human life?

MAC Boys Entertainment (MBE) was created with the purpose of filling the void of Black representation within the theatre world, focusing first and foremost on the Central Florida community.
