Lions and tigers and storytelling—oh my! Take a journey down the Yellow Brick Road into a world full of munchkins, magic, and marvelous imagination. Create new adventures for Dorothy and friends or invent your own dazzling characters to explore the Emerald City and beyond. There’s no place like drama class!

This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!

What You Will Learn

  • How to create a character and perform with and in front of others 
  • Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’; body, voice, imagination, and concentration
  • How to create a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end
  • How to share opinions about a story with classmates

What to Expect 

  • Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
  • A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
  • Creative play and theatre games that explore the world, characters, and details of the class theme
  • Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback

What to Bring

  • Students should bring a water bottle each day. 

Presentation Day

  • Final presentations are held on the last day of class, giving students the opportunity to showcase what they learned throughout the program. Family and friends are invited to attend, Saturday, November 22, 10:30am.
