Follow the Yellow Brick Road through the land of Oz! From Munchkinland and to the Emerald City, this trip is sure to create new friends and grant a few wishes. Celebrate the songs and characters from over the rainbow all week long! “The wizard will see you now!”
This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!
What You Will Learn
- Learn lyrics and choreography to perform a variety of musical numbers
- Become a character and play pretend with and in front of others
- Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’; body, voice, imagination, and concentration
- How to share opinions about a story with classmates
What to Expect
- Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
- A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
- Creative play and theatre games that explore the world, characters, and details of the class theme
- Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback
What to Bring
- Students should bring a water bottle and a non-perishable lunch each day. Please ensure all items are nut-free.
- All necessary class materials are provided
Extended Care
- Extended Care is available Monday-Friday, 7:30am-9am and 2pm-5:30pm, for $50 per week
Presentation Day
- Final presentations are held on the last day of class, giving students the opportunity to showcase what they learned throughout the program. Family and friends are invited to attend. Presentation times are announced on Monday of your camp week.
