Get Ready with Me: Stage Makeup Edition

Who can you be today? Create a different makeup look each day; basic contouring and highlighting, old age, animals, fantasy characters, and cuts and bruises, to name a few. Find your inspiration, sketch designs, create a character, and then get hands-on applying makeup to yourself! A personal stage makeup kit is included in tuition.

This program is designed for all students—whether you dream of performing onstage, simply want a fun way to make new friends, or both! This class is perfect for students who want to try something new, get creative, and have a blast—whether it is their first theatre class or their fiftieth!

What You Will Learn

• Basic stage makeup application and contouring skills 
• The steps and elements of makeup design for original characters
• Tips for general skincare
• Vocabulary and skills related to the ‘actor toolbox’; body, voice, imagination, and concentration
• How to share opinions about a character with classmates

What to Expect 

• Each student receives a personal makeup kit with registration 
• Engaging, interactive classes led by experienced teaching artists
• A supportive and inclusive environment designed for students to connect with each other
• Opportunities to share ideas and receive personalized feedback

What to Bring

• Students should bring a water bottle and a non-perishable lunch each day. Please ensure all items are nut-free.
• Hypo-allergenic makeup wipes are provided, but students are welcome to bring other makeup wipes or facial soap for makeup removal

Extended Care

• Extended Care is available Monday-Friday, 7:30am-9am and 2pm-5:30pm for $50 per week

Presentation Day

• Final presentations are held on the last day of class, giving students the opportunity to showcase what they learned throughout the program. Family and friends are invited to attend. Presentation times are announced on Monday of your camp week.
